ICYMI: COVID-19 Surge 'Epidemic Of Unvaccinated People': Doctor

Long Island saw an 8 percent jump this week in COVID-19 cases, according to Gov. Hochul.

OCEANSIDE, NY — COVID-19 cases are surging across the country and on Long Island.

"I think this is all going to be related to omicron," Aaron Glatt, chief of infectious diseases at Mount Sinai South Nassau, told Patch. "It's highly contagious. It spreads more rapidly than even delta does."

The state's positivity rate on Friday stood at 8 percent, according to the governor's office.
