ICYMI: Dr. Urges 'More Risk' 50 And Older To Get New COVID-19 Booster

Regarding the polio concern, Dr. Aaron Glatt with Mount Sinai South Nassau says the vast majority have "nothing to be worried about."

OCEANSIDE, NY — While the new bivalent COVID-19 booster is now available, Dr. Aaron Glatt, chief of infectious diseases at Mount Sinai South Nassau, says those with comorbidities or over 50, should be first to get the updated shot.

"People who are older than 50 are at more risk," Glatt said.

With the polio emergency stemming from one person in Rockland County and positive samples found in the wastewater, including in Nassau County, it won't have an impact on the overwhelming majority.

"If you're fully vaccinated against polio, you have essentially nothing to really be worried about," he said.
