Lifesaving Tips During Town Of Hempstead Free Trainings

Skin screening and saving lives training are part of the four events being held starting next month.

POINT LOOKOUT, NY — While the heat is already on for Long Islanders, it's a good time for some important lifesaving techniques.

The Town of Hempstead is hosting a free Summertime Wellness Series in conjunction with North Shore University Hospital Northwell Health.

The series takes place over four consecutive Thursdays at several locations.

At a skin screening on July 11 (11 a.m. to 1 p.m.) at Town Park Point Lookout and on Aug. 1 (10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.) at Echo Park Pool in West Hempstead, residents will learn how to manage proper skincare in the hot weather.

There is a "Stop the Bleed" training on July 18 (1-2 p.m.) at Town Park Point Lookout and a "Saving Lives" training on July 25 (1-2 p.m.) at Lido Beach Town Park.
