Hodge, who grew up in Long Beach, was on the Board of Trustees at the MLK Center. He ultimately was appointed board chair, a position he held until Oct. 2021.

The trio received the endorsement of the county's Working Families party.

"James Hodge, Liz Treston, and Tina Posterli are trusted community leaders who we can count on to prioritize the needs of working people through deep public investments in housing, climate, and youth programs. We look forward to working with them to make sure Long Beach is affordable and accessible for all people,” said Joe Sackman, Nassau County Chapter of the New York Working Families Party.
