Long Beach Declares Snow Emergency For Weekend Nor'Easter

Vehicles on snow emergency routes must be removed by 7 p.m. on Friday or expect to be charged for towing.

LONG BEACH, NY — As the significant snowfall is expected on Saturday, Long Beach's city manager has declared a snow emergency.

It is in effect from 7 p.m. on Friday until 4 p.m on Sunday.

Parking is prohibited on snow emergency routes to allow for safe snow removal and mass transportation.

Any vehicles parked along snow emergency routes will be towed at the owner's expense, the city said.

  • West Beech Street from Nevada Avenue to Grand Boulevard
  • West Park Avenue from Nevada Avenue to New York Avenue
  • West Side of Maryland Avenue from Park Avenue to Beech Street
  • West Side JJ Evans Boulevard from Park Avenue to Pine Street
  • Shore Road from Long Beach Boulevard to Maple Boulevard
  • East Pine Street from Neptune Boulevard to Curley Street

Additionally, parking on the Pine Street Canal Bridges is prohibited. Alternate side of the street parking will remain in effect to ensure that snow is removed efficiently.
