LONG BEACH, NY — A Long Beach man has been sentenced to 20 years to life in prison for the shooting death of an Uber driver last year, prosecutors said.

"Humberto Manual Francis-Hernandez went to work as a cab driver and never came home because of the senseless actions of this defendant," Nassau County DA Anne Donnelly said. “Shaun Teemer shot Francis-Hernandez point blank in the head and arm, and sadly the 37-year-old man succumbed to his injuries in the hospital."

Teemer was also sentenced for plowing his Jeep into a 73-year-old woman, leaving the victim with broken leg, as he fled, six months before shooting the Uber driver.
