LONG BEACH, NY — In an effort to boost security for the summer, the City of Long Beach is hiring special police officers for the department.

As stated on their Facebook page, it's an "excellent opportunity for those looking to gain experience and training for a career in law enforcement."

Eligible candidates are required to have a valid New York State driver's license. The summer position pays $18 per hour.
