Long Beach Residents Can Get Paid To Hand Over Firearms

Long Beach police will pay between $200-$400 for weapons.

LONG BEACH, NY — The Long Beach Police Department is holding a Gun Buy Back event next month.

Anyone who turns in firearms will remain strictly anonymous.

The program, in conjunction with the Nassau County District Attorney's office and the Nassau County Police Department, runs July 8 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Handguns can be given in for $200 and assault rifles or ghost guns for $400.

All weapons must be operable, unloaded and be brought in a plastic or paper bag or a shoebox. If delivering the gun by car, it must be in the trunk.

Licensed guns, rifles, BB guns, air pistols or replicas will not be accepted.

It takes place at the Evangel Revival Community Church on National Boulevard.
