Long Beach School Budget Passes By Large Margin

LONG BEACH, NY — Long Beach residents headed to the polls on Tuesday. The Long Beach School District 2023-2024 budget was approved by voters, 1,258 to 324.

The $151,631,248 budget is a decrease of 0.2% from the previous year. The tax levy is a 1.5% increase.

Proposition 2: Expenditure (up to $5.2 million) from the 2018 Capital Reserve Fund passed, 1,331 to 215.

Proposition #3: The library budget passed with 1,272 "yes" votes. There were 258 "no" votes.

Nora Bellsey (1,058) and Dennis Ryan (881) win Board of Education seats.
