LONG BEACH, NY — During the Long Beach Board of Education meeting on Tuesday night, it was announced that more than $82,000 was transferred from the budget to cover the cost of a boiler rental for six months.

At the meeting, the board adopted its Strategic Plan, following the recommendation from Superintendent Jennifer Gallagher. It covers 2023-2028 as a blueprint for goals and expectations within the district.

According to minutes from the meeting, emergency plumbing work was required at the high school on Jan. 4 from an "unforeseen break in a water main." It caused water to penetrate the pool filter room through concrete walls.
