Long Beach Staying Ahead Of Storm So Far With Salting, Plowing

A city spokesperson said only two inches fell in Long Beach as of 9 a.m.

LONG BEACH, NY — As the snow came down Tuesday morning and temperatures dropped, it began to stick.

However, in Long Beach, officials say conditions aren't that bad and they have the situation under control.

City spokesperson John McNally told Patch that roads were salted early in the morning. He said we're doing another pass and plowing.

McNally said as of 9 a.m. Long Beach had two inches of snow. The forecast from the National Weather Service is calling for 5-7 inches across Southern Nassau County.
