Long Beach Welcomes New City Manager

Daniel Creighton was sworn in after spending the past years working for the MTA.

LONG BEACH, NY — Daniel Creighton was sworn in this week as the new Long Beach City Manager.

Creighton spent the past eight years at the MTA, where he was charged with overseeing billions of dollars in projects. Before that, he served in the U.S. Department of Transportation, administering nearly $5 billion in federal aid to support New York City's recovery from the 9/11 attacks.

He received his MBA from Baruch College and a pair of Bachelor of Science degrees from Carnegie Mellon University.

Creighton has called Long Beach home, along with his wife and three children, for eight years.

He spent the past six years on the Long Beach Zoning Board of Appeals.
