After weathering fires and floods, Ooh La La Boutique, a unique store for lady's fashion, is closing its Long Beach location at the end of the month after 15 years of doing business in the city.

Owner Jenny Montiglio took to Facebook to announce the closure of the store. She said it was mainly economics that led to the decision.

"We’ve been struggling the past few years, I’ve tried my best to hold on but it’s just gotten too much!" she wrote. "I can’t give it the love it deserves. It’s bittersweet but I know this is the right move!"

The Long Beach location was the flagship store of Ooh La La, which also has locations in Babylon, Sayville, Huntington and Fire Island. The Long Beach store opened in 2005, and was the first location of the local chain.

Ooh La La existed in multiple locations in Long Beach over the years. The first iteration of the store opened at 126 East Park Ave. in 2005. In 2009, after saving money, the store closed and remodeled. Two weeks after the store reopened, a fire burned it to the ground. The store moved across the street, and then eventually to its current location at 134 East Park Ave. Two years after that move, in 2012, Hurricane Sandy hit and devastated the business again. But they rebuilt and reopened.

The store is closing in nine days. All gift certificates will be honored at the Long Beach location until then, and then at any of the other locations forever, Montiglio wrote.

As a thank you to the support of the Long Beach community over the last 15 years, Montiglio said that she will give all Long Beach residents free shipping for life on orders from the store's website. Long Beach residents need to email [email protected] to give their name and get their free shipping code.

"We will miss our Long Beach customers," Montiglio wrote. "Thank you for support and friendships over the years. I will truly miss so many of you! Thank you for sharing in life’s milestones with us. Thank you for being a part of my life! I really hope to see you anytime you're in Babylon or Sayville."
