Loop Parkway To Shut Overnights In May For Ongoing Construction Work

LIDO BEACH, NY — Drivers should be alerted to overnight closures on the Loop Parkway. Beginning on Monday, May 6, the parkway will shut from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. as the state Department of Transportation will remain to steel deck replacement project on the Long Creek drawbridge.

The work will last approximately two weeks, weather permitting, Long Beach police said.

Drivers should follow the signed route for the Long Beach Bridge (Long Beach Boulevard connecting Long Beach with Island Park) for access between Long Island and Long Beach's barrier island.

NYSDOT also reminds motorists that the speed limit in the work zone has been lowered from 55 miles per hour to 35 miles per hour.
