OCEANSIDE, NY — An Oceanside man was arrested on Tuesday morning for robbing a 7-Eleven in Oceanside, police said.

Anthony Candelaria, 38, entered the convenience store on Atlantic Avenue at 5:20 a.m., and began removing approximately 20 cigarette boxes from behind the counter, police said.

Candelaria threatened the store clerk and left the 7-Eleven without paying for the merchandise, authorities said.

He was taken into custody a short later. Candelaria is charged with third-degree robbery and is expected to be arraigned on Wednesday, police said.
