LONG BEACH, NY — As the New Year is upon us, Long Beach has three new council members. A swearing-in took place on Monday for Brendan Finn, Chris Fiumara and Michael Reinhart.

"Long Beach has four gems," said new City Council President Finn. "The bay, ocean and our beautiful boardwalk are the first three, but the most important is the fourth, and that is the people of Long Beach. That is the gem that we are going to polish, sustain and help flourish."

Finn, a resident of Long Beach since 1962, lives there with his wife and two sons, who were adopted from Ukraine in 2007. He had a 20-year career with the NYPD, which included investigative work with the joint FBI/NYPD Terrorism Task Force.
