POINT LOOKOUT, NY —News 12 Long Island personality Elisa DiStefano has opened her second Point Lookout restaurant with her husband Mo Cassara, former Hofstra University mens' basketball coach.

They purchased the Point Ale House and turned it into The Point, but first, the power couple had to get through the pandemic.

"It's a fresh start for us. There were points in those 26 months where things were getting delayed," DiStefano said. "It was challenge after challenge, I'm so incredibly grateful."

On Wednesday, DiStefano and Cassara held the official grand opening after weeks of a soft launch.

Despite the delays throughout COVID-19, DiStefano said it made the finished product even sweeter for her and the waterfront community.

However, staffing issues slightly altered initial plans from serving customers seven days a week and skipping a late-night menu for now.

The Point, at 70 Lido Blvd., now features an outdoor space, but as for the menu, "We really tried to keep the things that people loved so much about the Point Ale House," she said. "I think the menu is really good. I think there's something for everyone."
