Obituary: Rev. Msgr. Edward Sweeny, of Long Beach, Dies at 84
Visitation will take place on Friday.
Died: April 12, 2016
Visitation: Friday, April 15 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Christopher T. Jordan Funeral Home on 302 Long Beach Road in Island Park. A mass of transferal will follow starting at 7:30 p.m. at the St. Ignatius Martyr RC Church on 721 West Broadway in Long Beach.
Service: Saturday, April 16 starting at 11 a.m. at the Christopher T. Jordan Funeral Home.

Obituary: Reverend Monsignor Edward Sweeny, of Long Beach, passed away on Tuesday, April 12. He was 84.
He was ordained June 1, 1957.

Sweeny was also a former pastor of Cure of Ars Church in Merrick; Chancellor of the Diocese of Rockville Centre; and temporary administrator of St. Catherine of Sienna parish, Franklin Square and St. Anne's parish, Garden City.
He was also a Defender of the Bond and Judicial Vicar of the Diocesan Tribunal before his retirement in 2010.
Interment will take place at the Cemetery of the Holy Rood on Old Country Road in Westbury.
