UNIONDALE, NY — Heavy rain pummeled the majority of Long Island on Sunday. But winds have not been as problematic as predicted and power outages have been extremely minimal from Henri.

PSEG Long Island says only 730 customers were without power, as of 3:30 p.m.

"We expect to restore power to the majority of remaining customers affected earlier today by Tropical Storm Henri by the end of the day," PSEGLI said in a statement.

The utility company restored electricity to more than 2,500 customers since midnight.

PSEGLI cautions that there could still be power problems. Large trees with weakened root support from the deluge may be susceptible to wind gusts that could reach 40 miles per hour.
