Overnight Road Closures Will Impact Loop Parkway Drivers

The road will be closed both ways from Jan. 23-27.

POINT LOOKOUT, NY — Overnight road work will impact drivers on the Loop Parkway next week.

Traffic will shut in both directions Monday, Jan. 23-Friday, Jan. 27, weather permitting, from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

This is part of ongoing repairs across the drawbridge at Long Creek, the state Department of Transportation said.

Drivers should follow the detour signs via the Long Beach Bridge.

Electronic message boards on the highway will alert motorists to the changes.

Drivers are reminded to use caution in work zones as fines for speeding are doubled.
