The utility company says they are preparing for potential outages from the weekend storm.

UNIONDALE, NY — The remnants of Tropical Storm Nicole are expected to reach parts of Long Island Friday night.

PSEG Long Island is making sure equipment is ready to fend off the potential flooding and sweeping winds.

They are performing system checks and preparing for possible outages.

"We continue to monitor the track of the storm and are preparing accordingly," said Michael Sullivan, vice president of Transmission and Distribution at PSEG Long Island. "PSEG Long Island will have personnel ready to assist our customers in the event of outages caused by the heavy rain and strong winds."

During the storm, PSEG Long Island may enhance its communications to customers for better accuracy of restoration times.
