Rain Halts Pair Of Weekend Events In Long Beach
The fireworks display and the biathlon race needed to be rescheduled.
LONG BEACH, NY — A pair of Long Beach activities this weekend have been postponed due to the weather.
The 44th annual Beach Biathlon was originally scheduled for Saturday. But it was postponed because of hazardous surf conditions and the threat of thunderstorms.
City officials announced they are working with all parties to reschedule the race.

Inclement conditions also put the brakes on the fireworks show for Friday night. It's been moved to the rain date on Saturday at approximately 9:10 p.m.
Fireworks will be visible anywhere along the boardwalk and beachfront.
