Summer Movie Nights Return To Local Beach

Long Beach is hosting a four-week event with films for the family.

LONG BEACH, NY — The "City by the Sea" is bringing Movies on the Beach back.

The four-week Long Beach program for the entire family kicks off on July 2 with The Goonies.

The movie nights will switch from four different beaches, starting on Neptune Beach.

July 23: Mamma Mia is screened on New York Avenue Beach.

Aug. 20: Sing 2 plays on Lafayette Boulevard Beach.

Aug. 27: Encanto appears on Lincoln Boulevard Beach.

Movies on the Beach is run by the Civic Associations in cooperation with the city of Long Beach.

Make sure to bring beach chairs to best enjoy the flick.

Movies will start at dusk, but the city said on its website that the event may be canceled by bad weather, including strong winds.
