Veteran Long Beach Volunteer Police Officer Praised Recent Promotion

LONG BEACH, NY — A woman who devotes her time volunteering to help keep Long Beach safe is being recognized.

Anna Fatigati, who was promoted to captain in January by the Long Beach Auxiliary Police, was singled out during this week's City Council meeting.

Fatigati received a citation for her 15 years of work in the community and for becoming the Auxiliary Department's first female captain.

The city council on Tuesday night called Fatigati, "a special person, who volunteers [her] time and energy here in the City of Long Beach."

In Sept. 2020, Fatigati was promoted to lieutenant, the first woman to reach that rank as well.

"She has given thousands of hours to the city for free," the city council said.
