The PGA tour is back at Bethpage State Park again this May, beginning on Monday the 13th. The occasion is the PGA Championship tournament which along with THE MASTERS, THE BRITISH OPEN, and THE US OPEN make up the 4 golf MAJORS. Yes, this stop at Bethpage is a BIG DEAL!
For this week Bethpage and the surrounding communities will play host to Tiger Woods, Rory Mcilroy, Jordan Spieth, Sergio Garcia, Bubba Watson and many more golf superstars.
If you have traveled past the course recently you have seen that construction of grandstands, hospitality tents, food and merchandise pavilions are all well under construction. Spectators from around the country will enjoy championship level golf right in our own state park.

There is a sign outside the entrance to the clubhouse that reads BETHPAGE STATE PARK: The peoples country club. It truly is. The bar area of the clubhouse is gone and construction is underway to expand and transform it into a sports bar that will be around for long after the pros have left town.
