Donations Top $80,000 For Family Of Massapequa Crash Victims

MASSAPEQUA, NY — The GoFundMe page created for the family of a Massapequa crash that left four relatives dead has gotten more than $80,000 in donations.

Three family members died after the collision on Sunrise Highway near the Sunrise Mall.

A fourth person, Chantel Solomon, 6, of Uniondale, succumbed to her injuries last week, police said.

Patrice Huntley, 60, was killed in the crash, along with his 12-year-old daughter Hannah and his 11-year-old son Jeremiah.

Solomon was Huntley's 5-year-old step-granddaughter. An 18-year-old stepdaughter was critically hurt.

Police said Michael Deangelo, 32, of Lindenhurst, who was speeding at the time of the crash, is charged with three counts of aggravated vehicular homicide, three counts of second-degree manslaughter, six counts of second-degree assault, two counts of third-degree assault and two counts of driving while ability impaired.

The GoFundMe page was created on Aug. 8 to "raise funds to pay for burial expenses, cover long-term care expenses for the surviving children and pay legal fees to ensure the driver(s) are prosecuted to the full extent of the law."
