Double Motorcycle Crash Leaves 1 Dead, 1 Injured

Police are still investigating and haven't released many details, but the two motorcycles crashed into two cars, killing one person.

UPDATE: New York state police have identified the man who was killed as David Torres, 45, of Hempstead.

According to police, Torres was driving a 2003 Kawasaki motorcycle when he hit the back of a 2019 Jeep and was thrown from his motorcycle.

Torres was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital, where he died from his injuries.

MASSAPEQUA, NY — A crash on the Southern State Parkway in Massapequa left one person dead and another injured, police said.

According to New York State Police, the crash occurred around 5:15 p.m. Thursday west of exit 31 on the Southern State, in Massapequa.

Police say the crash involved two motorcycles and two cars. One of the motorcyclists was killed, and the other was injured. The drivers of the cars were not injured.

Police did not release details of the crash, or the names of the people involved.

The investigation is ongoing. State police ask any witnesses to the crash, or anyone with information, to call (631) 756-3300.
