First Car Show Long Island At TOBAY Beach This Saturday

Check out hundreds of cars and other vehicles, take in the sun and enjoy live music, too.

Celebrate the arrival of consistently warm weather by check out the first Car Show Long Island, a new event from the Town of Oyster Bay, at TOBAY Beach on Saturday, April 28, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Hundreds of cars, trucks, military vehicles and emergency service vehicles will be on display for kids of all ages to enjoy. Plus, there will be a concert by That 70s Band and a trophy presentation for people who enter their cars.

“Whether you’re a proud classic car owner or you want to see the best cars in the region, the Car Show Long Island is sure to please!" Oyster Bay Town Supervisor Joseph Saladino said in a release. "A classic event in the making, this premiere car show will be the first of many presented by the Town of Oyster Bay.”

Thefamily friendly event is a great way to spend a day at the beach in April. Car enthusiasts and spectators alike can grab a bite to eat at the bay-side restaurant Mango Bay Latin Kitchen & Cantina, or grab something to eat on the go from one of the food tents. Trophies will be awarded to the best of the best, and children will have a say when deeming which rides are their favorites in the Kids’ Choice Award. The Batmobile and several other Hollywood vehicles — designed by the famous George Barris — created for major motion pictures and television will be on display thanks to the Autoseum Automotive Teaching Museum of Garden City.

Those who wish to display their vehicles can register the day-of for $25 per car. The rain date for the show is May 6. The event is free to spectators, but people are asked to bring two cans of food to donate to Island Harvest, the largest hunger relief organization on Long Island.
