Hazardous Weather Outlook Issued for Long Island

Severe thunderstorms possible as hot and humid weather continues.

The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for most of Long Island, warning of a “marginal risk for severe thunderstorms Thursday afternoon and evening.”

The main threat from any storms will be damaging wind gusts, reads the outlook, which applies to all of Long Island except for the East End.

Before we get to Thursday, Long Islanders will battle the heat once again on Wednesday, another day where high temperatures will be around 90 and may feel closer to 95 when the humidity is factored in.
