Hot Weather Kicks Off Summer, Early Start At Town Of Oyster Bay Pools

OYSTER BAY, NY — Although Long Island may not have a heat wave this week, temperatures will make it uncomfortable.

As summer begins, Town of Oyster Bay residents can take advantage of the hot weather as community pools will open for the season a day early.

The five pools will open on Friday, June 21, with hours of 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. through Labor Day, weather permitting.

Each pool will also have extended hours until 8 p.m. on:

• Monday: Syosset-Woodbury Community Park
• Tuesday: Plainview-Old Bethpage Community Park
• Wednesday: Bethpage Community Park
• Thursday: Marjorie R. Post Community Park in Massapequa
• Fridays: ALL pools open late including Tappen Beach in Glenwood Landing.

The summer solstice is June 20.
