MASSAPEQUA, NY — Independence Day is quickly approaching, which means it's time to fire up that barbecue and find out what Fourth of July fireworks and festivities are going on in and around Massapequa for 2023.

We gathered up all the fireworks shows, parades and festivals happening in and around Massapequa, so you can start planning now.

July 4 Festivities

The annual Massapequa Park parade steps off on July 4 at 11 a.m. The festivities start on Lakeshore Drive and Walker Street, and continue south onto Park Boulevard through the village to Front Street.

Marching bands and local community groups will participate.

In Rockville Centre, the annual fireworks celebration and concert take place on Saturday, July 8 at 7:30 p.m. It will be held at the Pette and Barasch Fields. (Rain date is Sunday, July 9.)

Jovia Financial Credit Union Fireworks Spectacular at Jones Beach
It takes place on July 4 at 9:30 p.m. above Jones Beach State Park.
It's a 25-minute dazzling display.
The fireworks are included in the regular price of park admission. It's $10 per vehicle.

A fireworks show is scheduled for Valley Stream on July 8. Gates open at 6 p.m. The pre-purchase of $15 tickets is encouraged. (Rain date is July 9.)
It will take place at Firemen's Memorial Field.
