LONG ISLAND, NY — Jersey Mike's locations across Long Island are teaming up to help raise money for the Special Olympics. When customers shop at one of the locations, they will be able to round up their purchase, and their excess change will be donated to the Athletes of Special Olympics New York.

Mitch Cohen, a member of the Athletes of Special Olympics New York board and a Jersey Mike's franchisee, helped make it happen.

“We are so grateful to Mitch and Jersey Mike’s for this donation opportunity,” said Stacey Hengsterman, president and CEO of Special Olympics New York. “Mitch has been and continues to be an amazing advocate of our movement. We’re happy to have him.”

When customers purchase food from participating Jersey Mike’s locations, they’ll be invited to round their change up to the nearest dollar. The rounded funds will then be donated to Special Olympics New York.

“Nothing is better than being able to give back,” said Cohen. “Being part of the Special Olympics New York Board gives me the chance to do that and watch these amazing athletes continue to grow into the best people they can be.”
