LI Weather: Cool, Clear Week Before Rain Comes In

LONG ISLAND, NY — Long Islanders can look forward to clear but cool weather for most of the week, before rain comes in for the weekend.

According to the National Weather Service, temperatures for most of the week will hover around 40 degrees, with clear skies to go along.

Temperatures will start to increase on Thursday, with the high rising to the mid-40s. It will be a bit warmer on Friday, too. But with those increased temperatures comes rain.

Thursday will be cloudy, with a decent chance of rain during the day. But that will increase as they day goes on, and rain is likely Thursday night into Friday. The rain will continue through the day on Friday, but will clear up by Saturday, leaving things sunny and cool again.

Tuesday Night: Clear, with a low around 26. Wind chill values between 15 and 20. Northwest wind 7 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 39. Northwest wind 10 to 14 mph.

Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 29.

Thursday: A 40 percent chance of rain after 1 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 45.

Thursday Night: Rain. Low around 37. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent.

Friday: Rain likely. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 48. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent.
