LONG ISLAND, NY — Long Islanders can look forward to a mild, sunny start to the week before a warm front brings a storm to the area.

Skies will be clear and temperatures in the mid-40s for the first half of the week.

But an encroaching warm front is bringing a storm with it. Temperatures will start to rise on Thursday, going up to around 50 degrees, and the rain will come Thursday night and into Friday.

The storm will bring mainly rain and wind, according to AccuWeather, with snow accumulating further north. If the storm were to track south, it could bring snow to Long Island. But that is unlikely, AccuWeather said.
