LI Weather: Warm Week Ahead, But Rain Later On

LONG ISLAND, NY — It may be the middle of winter right now, but it won't feel like it. After a frigid weekend, temperatures will be above-average all week, with some days being downright warm.

High temperatures will be in the upper 40s and 50s all week, according to the National Weather Service. It will also be clear most of the week, with a slight chance of rain Tuesday night.

Rain becomes more likely on Thursday, though temperatures will remain high. Friday will be clear again, but rain comes back into the forecast Friday night and into Saturday.

Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 49. North wind 11 to 18 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph.

Monday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 29. Wind chill values between 20 and 25. Blustery, with a north wind 16 to 21 mph decreasing to 8 to 13 mph after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 31 mph.

Tuesday: Increasing clouds, with a high near 43. Wind chill values between 25 and 35. North wind 6 to 10 mph becoming south in the afternoon.

Tuesday Night: A 20 percent chance of rain before 1 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a steady temperature around 40. South wind 11 to 14 mph becoming west after midnight.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 50. Northwest wind around 10 mph.
