LIRR Creates Rewards Program For Monthly Ticket Holders

Monthly ticket holders can now get discounts with dozens of participating businesses, including restaurants, sports teams and more.

The Long Island Rail Road is trying to make customers' monthly tickets go even farther than the trip to Penn Station. Starting this month, the rail road announced the "My LIRR Loyalty" program, which will give monthly ticket holders special discounts and offers with participating merchants.

The LIRR has teamed up with 70 merchants so far, including restaurants, hotels, fitness centers, entertainment venues, museums, sporting events and more. All of the businesses are offering special discounts and offers to LIRR riders with a currently monthly ticket.

"My philosophy is and has always centered around providing reliable train service, clean cars and stations, and outstanding customer service," LIRR President Phillip Eng said. "That goal now extends beyond riding our rails as we strive to show our customers how much we appreciate them. I'm excited that we're able to offer these programs designed with our customers in mind to give our monthly ticket holders extra perks to further enjoy Long Island and New York City."
