LONG ISLAND, NY — The remnants of Tropical Storm Nicole are likely to bring heavy rain and strong winds to Long Island this weekend, according to weather forecasts.

According to AccuWeather, Nicole is likely to bring one to two inches of rain to the area Friday and into Saturday. There could also be high winds along with it, and possible severe thunderstorms.

The National Weather Service also says there is a marginal chance of flash flooding across the area from the rain.

But the storm will also bring warmer temperatures with it. Highs are predicted to be around 70 on Friday and Saturday.

The rain is likely to start after 1 p.m. Friday, the National Weather Service said, and continue through Saturday morning. It should taper off by the afternoon.
