MASSAPEQUA, NY — A Massapequa man was arrested on Saturday night for damaging the gas line of his business.

Raymond Sgambati, 48, was taken into after an investigation by police.

Officers had responded to Sgambatis Pizza on Merrick Road in Massapequa Park, due to the smell of natural gas.

Sgambati is charged with third-degree burglary, third-degree attempted arson and second-degree reckless endangerment. He was arraigned on Wednesday at District Court in Hempstead.
