MASSAPEQUA, NY — This weekend, Massapequa High School will be hosting a Walk-a-Thon to raise money for Paws of War, and to help unite a service member with a dog from overseas.

The high school's Dog Rescue Club is hosting the Walk-a-Thon to raise money for Paws of War's War-Torn Pups and Cats Program. The program helps reunite military service members with animals they bonded with overseas. The Dog Rescue Club is trying to help rescue Miss Lippy, a dog who befriended a U.S. Army Sergeant. All money raised will help bring Miss Lippy to the United States.

During the Walk-a-Thon, participants will be able to enjoy live music, interactions with Paws of War therapy dogs, free food, raffles, a mini fair, field games and more. Admission is $10 per person. Children under five are free.
