MASSAPEQUA, NY — Despite the high temperatures, two Massapequa beaches are closed today due to elevated levels of bacteria in the water.

The Nassau County Department of Health has closed Biltmore Beach Club and Philip Healey Beach, both in Massapequa, to swimming due to elevated levels of bacteria in the waters.

Health officials said the beaches will remain closed to swimming until bacteria levels are within acceptable limits.
