Massapequa Native Named To 2019 World Rowing Championships

MASSAPEQUA, NY — Residents of Massapequa can feel a little more patriotic, as Kristine O'Brien, who's from the village, will represent Team USA in the upcoming 2019 World Rowing Championships.
US Rowing recently announced five selected boats going to the racing competition in Linz, Austria, at the end of this month. O'Brien was selected to row in the women's eight boat, which she also featured in during the 2018 World Championships — winning a gold medal in the event.
The women's eight boat will join the men's eight, women's four, men's four and women's quadruple sculls at the 2019 tournament. O'Brien will however only be featured on the women's eight.
