Massapequa Native Named Among Top 10 College Soccer Players In US

Dylan Nealis is getting ready to start his final season with Georgetown, and has already racked up an impressive list of accomplishments.

Dylan Nealis, a Massapequa native and one of the captains of the Georgetown soccer team, was recently named one of the top 10 best collegiate male soccer players in the country. Nealis was named to the list by Top Drawer Soccer, which ranks more than 3,000 players nationwide.

Nealis — the brother of New York Red Bulls defender Sean Nealis — is going into his second year as a captain of the Georgetown team. The senior is getting ready to start his final season with Georgetown.

Already, Nealis has racked up tons of honors. Just last week, he was named the BIG EAST Preseason Defensive Player of the Year, and was also named to the 2019 Missouri Athletic Club Hermann Trophy Watch List. He was the 2018 BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Year, a First Team All-East Region selection and a First Team All-BIG EAST honoree.

As a defender, Nealis started in 20 out of 21 games last season, and was fourth on the team in scoring with two goals and a squad-best seven assists.

Georgetown's first game of the season is Aug. 30 against Syrcause.
