Mets To Honor Massapequa's Little League Softball Team

MASSAPEQUA, NY — The Massapequa International Little Leaguers are getting feted by the New York Mets.

The softball team won the World Series last weekend in Greenville, North Carolina.

The under 12 squad will be at Citi Field on Aug. 26, Newsday reported.

They'll meet the Mets during batting practice before the game against the Angels and take part in the team's second annual Women's Day activities.

The Town of Oyster Bay is planning a parade for the young athletes, who became the state's first team to win the Little League Softball World Series.
