Plans To Honor Fallen NYPD Det. Diller Postponed Due To Rain

MASSAPEQUA, NY — The National Night Out celebration, complete with a free concert by acclaimed Southern Rock band, The Marshall Tucker Band, was postponed due to heavy rain on Tuesday.

The event was moved to Wednesday, Aug. 21 at John J. Burns Park in Massapequa.

The region's largest National Night Out will include a special tribute to NYPD Detective Jonathan Diller. Plans for a permanent memorial will be unveiled for the Massapequa Park hero, Supervisor Joseph Saladino said.
