Rid Your Home of E-Waste, Unwanted Drugs and More at TOBAY S.T.O.P. Event

The program helps protect the environment, officials say.

Here’s a way for Town of Oyster Bay residents home of hazardous waste, unwanted electronics and medications in a safe manner while also sparing the planet.

Bring these items to the town’s 2014 Household Hazardous Waste Disposal (S.T.O.P.-Stop Throwing Out Pollutants), Electronic Waste (e-waste) and Drug Collection event on Saturday, Sept. 6. The collection will take place at Town Hall South, 977 Hicksville Road in Massapequa, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“One of the Oyster Bay Town Board’s most important goals is ensuring the ongoing protection of Long Island’s environment, and programs like the S.T.O.P recycling program go a long way in preserving precious resources such as Long Island’s aquifer,” Councilwoman Rebecca Alesia said, in a statement.
