Tonight The

World Is Watching

Sometimes I have to wonder if a major portion of today’s volatile climate is due to the lack of privacy.

It becomes quite evident when you turn on a device, open a newspaper, or switch to a popular TV news Channel, and instantly learn about a prominent figure’s matrimonial problems, and/or political persuasion and in some cases, status of their body during a pregnancy.

The invasion of privacy was quite apparent during the recent illness of the British royal family. Questions and speculations bounded well beyond the level of what was once called good taste 0r obviously, kindness for anyone seriously ill.

None of which is necessarily a topic of much interest to the average American,

Yet the lack of boundaries eases gently into conversations and escalates into political rancor.

Words normally out of bounds, i.e, the new accepted noun “A-H”seemingly is acceptable coming from the mouths of normally prim and proper citizens. The smirk from those listening is a major factor in acceptance of poor behavior.

I cannot help but wish and wonder if some miracle could sweep the voting population of our beloved country back to the sanctity and privacy of the voting booth.

In my opinion the integrity of the voter in our beloved country is sacred and matters more than their choice of a candidate.

The respect we cherish for the results of an election should not be undermined by the ridicule of another’s vote or disrespect for their choice..

As a country founded on justice for all, let us remember the dedication of all the candidates who wish to serve our country and deserve respect for their contribution. If we fail to do that, we undermine not only the candidates, but the integrity of our beloved country. Harsh adjectives, “senile”, “iconoclastic anti-establishment vibe” and the offensive “A-H” merely contribute to dividing our land.

At one point in time, there was a valid repudiation of blue laws, and perhaps it is now time to also eschew the lurid purple conversation, headlines and in many cases, raucous vocabulary.

Let us use our vocabulary as an instrument of kindness while also a tool for truth.

The world is watching.
