Long Island Little Leaguers' World Series Elimination Game Rescheduled Due To Weather

Inclement weather interfered Sunday with the Little League World Series.

MASSAPEQUA, NY — The Massapequa Coast Little League team will now play Monday for a chance to stay in the Little League World Series, after inclement weather interfered with Sunday's elimination game.

Originally scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday, game 20 will see the Coast take on Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, at 11 a.m. Monday in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, where the tournament is being held. The postponement was announced on Twitter shortly after 4 p.m. Sunday. The game will be aired on ESPN.

Massapequa lost game 12 of the series Friday to Honolulu, in a 12-0 no-hitter that ended after the fifth inning. Hollidaysburg won game 16 on Saturday, 7-5, beating out Middleborough, Massachusetts.

Whichever team comes out on top Monday will go on to play in game 26 at 3 p.m. Tuesday against the loser of game 22 between Nolensville, Tennessee, and Hagerstown, Indiana.
