Woman Violent At Massapequa Bar; Officer Hit Across Face: Police

MASSAPEQUA, NY — A disturbance at a Massapequa bar led a police officer being struck in the face, authorities said.

Nyasia Coombs-Jones, 27, of Long Beach, became violent and combative at The Boat Yard Bar just before 9:30 p.m. Thursday, police said.

After Coombs-Jones hit the officer, she was subdued and placed under arrest, police said.

No other injuries were reported.

Coombs-Jones is charged with second-degree assault and second-degree obstructing governmental administration. She was expected to be arraigned on Friday.
