Former County Legislator Abrahams Expected To Run For Carini's Seat

FREEPORT, NY — Kevan Abrahams, who retired last year after more than two decades as a Nassau County Legislator, is expected to announce a bid for Hempstead Town Council, Newsday reports.

Abrahams would run in a special November election to fill the void left by the sudden death of Christopher Carini, 49, last month.

District 5 covers neighborhoods in Freeport, Merrick, North Merrick, Bellmore, Wantagh, Seaford, Lido Beach, Point Lookout and North Bellmore.
