2 In-Store Sexual Attacks Reported In 1 Day: Hudson Man Arrested

KINDERHOOK, NY — A Hudson man accused in two separate groping incidents May 2 at two stores near each other faces sex abuse charges.

Troopers were called to a Hannaford supermarket in the town of Kinderhook and a Cumberland Farms convenience store in the village of Valatie for reports of a man forcibly touching women. One of the reports came in at 8 a.m. and the other at 3:30 p.m.

Investigator determined the man grabbed two victims for sexual purposes. One of them was a minor. Neither knew him.

James D. Konderwich, 21, faces charges of second-degree sexual abuse, forcible touching and endangering the welfare of a child. All are misdemeanors.

Konderwich was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the town of Kinderhook Court on May 28.

State police said they are seeking other possible victims of similar crimes. They ask potential victims to please call investigators at the Livingston office at 845-677-7300.
